V-touch Series Hardware
General Description The V-touch is the ideal low cost touch screen point of sale terminal for fast food outlets, convenience stores, restaurants, sporting venues, retail outlets, franchise operations, general hospitality and many other POS applications. V-touch is intelligent and does not rely on a permanent host computer connection for operation.
All critical operations and peripheral devices are supported internally, thus providing security and peace of mind for users. If a V-touch is running stand alone (via a modem, the host computer is being used for something else or there has been a computer or communications failure) full sales transaction data is stored in the V-touch and transferred to the host computer automatically, as soon as communications are established or restored. Installation is simple and low-cost, using Category 5 twisted pair cabling.
The Intelligent Control Module controls up to 32 V-touch or VersaTerms on a single daisy chained branch, which can run up to 1 km from the host computer system, or alternatively the Vtouch can connect to the host computer via modem. V-touch and VersaTerm, VMR Series, VL Series and VM Series tills can be used together on the same installation.

General Description
The VersaTerm series of Tills were designed by Quest specifically for the hospitality market. All the models offered have optional battery, magnetic swipe readers for credit card, loyalty usage, plus any other facilities that may be required of a card, e.g. Clerk Log On, Member Systems, VIP Cards, in-house Debit / Credit accounts, Coupons and Discounts. All can have battery back up that allows the VersaTerm to operate fully for 2 - 8 hours (depending on configuration) without any mains power.
Quest tills support an unprecedented level of system redundancy, allowing sales to be generated and a full electronic journal stored even if the network communication or back office is down throughout the entire trade, or even if the building's main power fails.
Quest tills are ROM based and can be upgraded with new features and software at any time directly from the back office. ROM based systems have significant advantages over commercial operating systems and microprocessors which typically are superseded regularly resulting in a never ending cycle of hardware update leads to software updates leads to hardware update. Additionally with Quest tills there is never any need for concern with Viruses or Virus protection software.
For example, in the time that Quest have been producing VersaTerm, we have been through: Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, Windows NT, Windows '95, Windows '98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP and from an Intel 386 at 33Mhz to an Intel Pentium IV at 3GHz.

Task Manager Software
General Description Task-Manager is a suite of Software Modules that manages the back office functions and links all the Quest Point of Sale Terminals together to create a total POS solution with export options to General Ledger, Creditors and Payroll packages.
The product is divided up into modules, allowing the purchase of tailor-made packages just right for your requirements without having to pay for things that you may not use. New modules can be added as required if your needs change. Task-Manager provides tight control over Inventory Management, Cash Management and Staff Costs. It can help detect problems such as theft and wastage before they get out of hand. You know exactly what your Inventory-on-hand is, up until the last sale, with the real time processing of sales transactions.
Keep track of staff time and attendance with the clock-in and clockout facility and export the information to your rostering or payroll software. The system enables the highlighting of absenteeism, attendances and late arrivals for quick verification.
In a world where competitive pricing has lost much of its lustre, many Venues have turned their focus to customer retention, loyalty and rewards. Using the raft of features available in the Task-Manager Membership & Loyalty/CRM software module that are totally integrated with the Quest POS Terminals, there is no double handling of transactions and it is done with a minimum amount of effort and can return excellent results.
Overall, Task-Manager provides comprehensive management of inventory, membership, loyalty and financial control of the venue. The total system can be centrally managed from one host PC in the back office. While the Quest POS Terminals will run standalone with no central point of failure, some advanced features which draw information from the Host PC can be utilised with all the benefits of an on-line POS system. These include integration with Poker Machine Loyalty Systems and Property Management systems that are provided by the Task-Manager suite of products.
